GAGGIA, was founded in 1947 by Achille Gaggia. The modern commercial espresso machine which makes a beautiful crema was invented when Achille Gaggia filed for a patent on September 5th, 1938. His ingenious idea was to force hot water under pressure to flow over the fine coffee grounds and to produce a beautiful crema that has made espresso coffee world famous today.

Gaggia has been making commercial espresso machines for almost sixty years. Gaggia has commercial espresso machines in operation in more than 37 countries around the world. Gaggia made the first espresso machine and still makes one of the best machines on the market today.
